- James Husbands - Honorary Member of the Barbados Association of Professional Engineers
-
In his own words:
I am happy and delighted at being chosen by The Barbados Association of Professional Engineers to be a recipient in their inaugural Honorary Engineer’s list.
When Engineer Mr. George Johnson called to advise of this honour, I was shocked, as I could never in my wildest dreams have imagined being accorded such an honour in such august company as The Barbados Association of Professional Engineers.
I am grateful, and feel blessed to be so honoured. I am also thrilled that a fellow Princess Margaret student Mr Grantley Haynes is the other recipient.
In acknowledging this honour I am cognizant of the many who have been the backbone of our development in Barbados, who have toiled without such recognition, and would wish at this time for them to share in this moment.I wish to thank Canon Andrew Hatch whose idea it was to start Solar Dynamics and his wife Sheila who gave it its name, and who helped to finance it in the most difficult of times.
My appreciation goes out to all those who have contributed, as workers, clients, bankers and service providers. Solar Dynamics is a national and regional development which now enjoys worldwide acclaim. The honour comes at a time when Solar Dynamics celebrates Barbados being the number one country in the World at 488.64 Btu per 1,000 populations, followed by Cyprus at 398.41,Israel at 393.72 Austria at 384.18 and Greece at 286.54;according to the worldwide authority on temperature The International Energy Agency.
In establishing the Solar Dynamics Temperature Guarantee, the company in its effort to protect its customer’s investment and to build client confidence, set a new “World Best-Practice”. Never before in the history of the solar water heating industry was the temperature guaranteed.James has won acclaim
